As mechanism says, light enters the camera through the lens, then it strikes the sensor, there it causes each photodetector to accumulate an electric charge based on the amount of light that strikes it. Finally, the camera converts the charge to pixels that make up the photo.
Shutter – It Controls the length of time that light falls on the film.
A shutter exposes the film or digital sensor to light. It projected for a given period of time. Duration might be from 1/4000 seconds to 30 seconds according to the capacity of the camera.

A camera is simply an optical device or light-tight box. It works by a mechanism where it allows light to enter at the opposite side of the box. This opposite side is a piece of light-sensitive material which has optical sensitivity.
In an early history of the camera, the light-sensitive medium was made by a glass plate. That glass plate had a slide in front of it. The task of it to keep light from entering. On the other side, the way for letting the light in was a cap when a photograph or a picture drawn by light was to be taken.
In front of the glass plate, the slide was removed and then the cap removed. It is replaced when a certain count had been reached at it’s desired position. In front of the glass plate, the dark slide was replaced. Finally, the plate processed to reveal the image and we can see a visual image.
Nowadays, all modern cameras work exactly in the same way. Additionally, a lens is a more important part of an upgraded level of photography. It is to let the light enter and be focused. A lens has been given a diaphragm to adjust the amount of light. Further, a shutter has also been fitted there to accurate the duration that the light is allowed access to the light-sensitive medium.
